October 2017 ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test (A&E)

Nagpalabas na ng announcement ang DepEd tungkol sa petsa ng Accreditation and Equivalency Test o A&E para sa 2017.

Simula October 2 - October 25, ang mga ALS learners na kwalipikadong aplikante para makakakuha ng A&E Test ay maaari ng magparehistro.


Sino ang maaaring mag-A&E?
1. Para sa elementary, mga hindi nakapagtapos ng elementary na may edad 12 pataas.
2. Para sa junior high school, mga hindi nakapagtapos ng high school na may edad 16 pataas.

Saan magpapa-register para sa A&E?
Magpunta sa schools division office o district office sa lugar ninyo at hanapin ang registration committee para sa registration forms at tatanggap ng mga requirements ng mage-exam.

Maaari ba kong magpadala ng representative para mag-register?
Ayon sa DepEd, ang mismong aplikante ang kailangang magsulat sa registration form at magpapasa nito sa registration committee.

Magkano ang registration para sa A&E 2017?
Walang bayad para sa registration form, o sa pag-exam ng A&E o paghingi ng certificate of rating.


Ano ang mga kailangang dokumento na isasama sa A&E registration form?
Ayon sa DepEd, kailangan ng aplikante ang mga sumusunod:
1. Orihinal at xerox copy ng Certification of ALS Program Completion
2. Orihinal at xerox copy ng NSO birth certificate
3. 2pcs 1x1 ID picture na magkapareho, white background at may name tag

Paano kung walang NSO birth certificate?
Kung walang birth certificate, maari ring ipasa ang:
1. Baptismal certificate
2. Voter's ID na may lagda at larawan
3. Valid passport
4. Valid driver's license
5. Anumang legal na dokumento na may pangalan ng aplikante, larawan at pirma gaya ng NBI clearance, baranggay certificate, o certification mula sa ALS learning facilitator.

Alternative Learning System (ALS)- K to 12 Basic Education Program

Narito ang binagong Alternative Learning System ayon sa K to 12. Ang K to 12 ay ang programa ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas para sa 13 taong basic education na may mga sumusunod:

  • Kindergarten hanggang Grade 3
  • Grade 4 hanggang Grade 6
  • Grade 7 hanggang Grade 10 Junior High School
  • Grade 11 hanggang Grade 12 Senior High School
Bakit may K to 12?
Ang Pilipinas ang kahuli-hulihang bansa sa Asya na magpatupad ng K to 12, at isa sa tatlong bansa sa buong mundo na may 10-taong basic education.

Mula sa yaya papuntang accountant, dahil sa DepEd ALS

Si Malou Lom-oc ay isang yaya na ngayon ay may diploma na at mag-aaral ng BS Accountancy. [credit: Manila Bulletin / STI Cainta]
Si Malou Lom-oc ay lumuwas sa Cainta, Maynila upang magtrabaho bilang isang yaya. Nagsisilbi rin siyang kahera sa meat shop na pagmamay-ari ng kanyang amo. Para kay Malou, kahit na may trabaho at kinikita na siya, gusto niya pa ring makapagtapos ng kolehiyo at maging isang Accounting graduate. Naniniwala siyang ang college diploma ay makapagbibigay ng mas mabubuting oportunidad para sa kanya.

"Huwag kang sumuko, tuparin mo ang pangarap mo at magtapos ka ng pag-aaral," payo niya sa kagaya niyang pinagsasabay ang pag-aaral at pagtatrabaho.

Si Malou ay mula sa isang simpleng pamilya, at may limang mga kapatid. Ang kaniyang tatay ay isang karpintero at ang kaniyang nanay isa isang may bahay. Sa edad 15, naglakas loob siyang lumuwas sa Maynila upang magtrabaho at makatulong sa kanyang pamilya.

Sa Cainta ay naging mapalad siyang makahanap ng employer na pinayagan siyang mag-enroll sa Alternative Learning Center sa Francisco P. Felix Memorial National High School sa Cainta. Nagsimula si Malou sa Grade 8. Habang nag-aaral dito, nalaman niya mula sa principal ang tungkol sa DepEd ALS STI College Ortigas-Cainta. Dahil mas malapit ito sa kaniya, lumipat siya dito. Tuwing Sabado, nilalakad niya ang pagpasok sa STI dahil malapit lamang ito.

Habang tulog ang inaalagaang bata, nag-aaral si Malou. Tinutulungan din siya ng kaniyang pinagtatrabahuhan na mag-review sa ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test.

"Kapag tulog na yung alaga ko saka ako nagbabasa… basta kapag may chance, nagrereview ako," sabi ni Malou.

Noong April 2016, kumuha siya ng DepEd Accreditation and Equivalency Test at nakapasa. Tuwang-tuwa ang lahat para kay Malou. Sa wakas, matutupad na niya ang pangarap na mag-aral para maging isang accountant.
